CURRICULUM
At this early stage, children thrive in a fully immersive learning environment. Their innate curiosity and experimental tendencies drive the education process as they learn through play. This core ideology underpins the curriculum and pedagogy employed at Serenity Prep around 6 “Learning Centres”, where children become co-creators of their learning adventure:
Our Learning Centres
Science
Students get the opportunity to fuel their innate exploratory nature to understand how their world works with hands-on experimentation.
Art
Pablo Picasso said “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up”. Intentional spaces are designed for children to fully express their creativity and bring the thoughts in their little minds to life.
Computation
At this early stage, building blocks are established for a future of lifelong learning by introducing children to core mathematical concepts.
Sensory
Our little ones use their senses to explore and understand the world around them. As such an environment strategically designed to engage and stimulate this learning experience generates confidence.
Problem Solving and Cognitive Development
By age three, most children have the fundamentals of problem-solving strategies and can apply those skills in specific situations. When children tackle problems on their own, or in a group, they become resilient. They learn to look at challenges from a fresh perspective and develop greater situational and social awareness.
Physical Development
Pre-schoolers should spend at least 180 minutes (3 hours) a day doing a variety of physical activities spread throughout the day, including active and outdoor play to improve fine motor skills including balance, dexterity, and flexibility.
Additionally, these interactions develop their social skills and form a positive outlook on health, including weight and diet.
